Your Money, Your Goals Resources for Native Communities
A webinar introduction
The growing suite of Your Money, Your Goals financial empowerment resources helps frontline staff and volunteers as they work with consumers to…
• Make spending decisions that can help them reach their goals
• Order and fix credit reports
• Avoid tricks and traps as they choose financial products
• Make decisions about repaying debts and taking on new debt
• Keep track of their income and bills
• Decide if they need a checking account and understand what they need to open one
On November 15, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Eastern, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will host a webinar introduction for people working in Native Communities.
The webinar will introduce participants to these resources and their benefits for Native Communities:
• Your Money, Your Goals: A financial empowerment toolkit for social services programs. This toolkit includes 40 tools that case managers and others can use with clients to address a wide range of financial topics. (See http://www.consumerfinance.gov/your-money-your-goals to take a look at the toolkit in advance.)
• Focus on Native Communities. This supplement to the Your Money, Your Goals toolkit meaningfully connects the toolkit to Native Communities and includes additional tools that are especially relevant to Native Americans.
• Behind on Bills. This special collection of eight tools provides a welcoming and easy-to-understand means of helping clients in Native Communities address their challenges related to paying bills.
