The United States Senate Committee on Indian Affairs held an oversight hearing on “Breaking New Ground in Agribusiness Opportunities in Indian Country,” on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Members of the Native Farm Bill Coalition was asked to testify at the hearing.
Congress is beginning consideration of the 2018 Farm Bill. The Farm Bill is enacted approximately every five years and addresses topics ranging from nutrition programs to agricultural policies, food production, natural resource conservation, rural development, and insurance programs.
In addition to the hearing the Committee is taking written testimony until January 31, 2018. To submit testimony, send an email to testimony@indian.senate.gov.
