The American Declaration for the American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (ADRIP) establishes as a priority for the Organization of American States (OAS) to progress in the effective promotion and protection of the rights of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.
In this regard, the Permanent Missions of Bolivia, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru to the OAS, in consultation with all Member States of the Organization, are developing a proposal for a Plan of Action on the Declaration, whose objective will be to carry out actions, activities and programs to promote and protect the rights of Indigenous Peoples in the Americas.
Description of the Plan of Action:
Mission: The promotion of public policies, administrative, legislative, judicial and budgetary measures to ensure that indigenous peoples in the Americas enjoy all of their rights.
Vision: OAS Member States develop and implement, in consultation with indigenous peoples, policies, programs and projects for the recognition, promotion and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples established in the American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (ADRIP).
The purpose of this consultation is to gather input and opinions from representatives of Indigenous Peoples from the Hemisphere on the activities proposed at the national and hemispheric level in the proposal for a Plan of Action, proposed by the Permanent Missions to the OAS mentioned above, under the following 5 strategic lines:

3. Capacity Building for States, Indigenous Peoples and Civil Society
4. Sustainable Development of Indigenous Peoples
5. Exchange of Best Practices and Experiences
