A report recently released by SAMHSA, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, indicates that Montana has the third highest rate of serious thoughts of suicide among young adults aged 15 to 24. The report reviews data from 2013 and 2014 and notes that 1 in 13 young adults consider suicide. Unfortunately, many young adults who contemplate suicide do not receive mental health treatment. Wyoming had the 18th highest rate of serious thoughts of suicide and Idaho had the 34th highest rate of serious thoughts of suicide.
