On July 5, the Indian Health Service (IHS), Office of Direct Service and Contracting Tribes announced a competitive Tribal Management Grant Program. The purposes of the grant are to enhance and develop health management infrastructure; assist tribes and tribal organizations in assuming all or part of existing IHS programs, functions, services, and activities through Title I contracts; and assist established Title I contractors and Title V compactors to further develop and improve management capability.
The total amount of funding for fiscal year is approximately $2,412,000, and individual grant amounts will be between $50,000 and $100,000 for an anticipated number of awardees of 16 to 18 tribes and tribal organizations.
