Motivational Interviewing/Screening Brief Intervention & Referral to Treatment (MISBIRT) Training

“MI is a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring the person’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.” (Miller& Rollnick, 2013, p. 29)
“SBIRT is an approach to the delivery of early intervention and treatment to people with substance use disorders and those at risk of developing these disorders.” (SAMSHA)
This course is over two consecutive Fridays, June 3 & June 10. You MUST attend both days.
