Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council joins with the Blackfeet Nation in mourning the passing of Chief Earl Old Person. He was the longest-serving tribal official in the United States. He was a great dignitary, dedicating his life as a strong advocate for Indian Country and the preservation of culture and traditional ways. We honor the legacy Chief Earl Old Person leaves. We give thanks for his leadership, dedication, and contributions to a great nation.
Chief Old Person will be sorely missed. We offer our condolences to his family and the Blackfeet Nation.
