2018 Tribal Consultation for Region 8 (Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming)
The consultation offers an opportunity to discuss topics such as prevention, behavioral health, and other topics affecting health care services and programming. This year’s consultation will include three full-day meetings in Denver, Colorado on May 15th, 16th, and 17th at the Byron Rogers Federal Office Building located at 1961 Stout Street, Denver, 80294. Our new Regional Director, Dr. Brian Shiozawa is looking forward to meeting you!
This annual regional Tribal Consultation provides an opportunity for Tribal Leaders to join representatives from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to discuss opportunities to improve the health of American Indians and maximize health care access in Indian Country. The first day of Tribal Consultation, May 15th, features discussions on opioids and substance misuse. Day two, May 16th, will be comprised of individual time for tribes to meet one-on-one with HHS leadership. We received useful feedback from last year’s one-on-one sessions and look forward to this opportunity again this year. On day three, May 17th, the Tribal Consultation will address general issues which you have identified as important topics for everyone to discuss.
To schedule your One-on-One Meeting: Please RSVP to Anita Sanchez at 303-844-7821 or email: Anita.Sanchez@hhs.gov. We value your input and participation and look forward to discussing matters affecting your tribe. If you are not able to attend, and would like to send a representative in your stead, please notify us of the name of your representative and include a letter appointing this individual to participate on your behalf. Thanks to those who have already submitted their RSVP.
We hope that you will be able to join us in Denver for this important Tribal Consultation.
